Lil Lane Kiffin

"Lil Lane" probably got more "street cred" than he bargained for when three of his Tennessee players were arrested this week. Perhaps he can spin that into another recruiting gimmick.

No need to go into specifics about the arrests here, nor is there much reason for rival fans to gloat because it could happen anywhere and the lives of three young men are likely to be effectively ruined.

Still ... with the way Lil Lane loves to needle other conference members, with the way he crowed about stealing coaches from other staffs, with the way he told a South Carolina recruit the kid would pump gas the rest of his life like everybody else in the Palmetto State, with the way he lied about firing a UT staff member who picked him up late at the airport, with the way he chided a Georgia recruit from Memphis for being a grandma's boy, with the way he inferred the administration at Pahokee High School in Florida was dishonest, with the whole Tennessee "wild boys" schtick ... well, let's say not many people around the SEC feel much sympathy for Lil Lane right now.

SEC Title Game

With the SEC Championship game all set, the month of November is anti-climactic for division races. Nonetheless, this week offers some pretty good matchups ... Auburn at Georgia, Alabama at improving Miss State, Tennessee at Ole Miss in an Ed Orgeron homecoming, Florida vs. the Old Ball Coach at Columbia ... not bad fare.

Friday Special Pick

West Virginia at Cincinnati ... the Bearcats continue to impress and remain the team most likely to claw into the BCS title game should the SEC teams and Texas falter. UC Coach Brian Kelly has done a masterful job with quarterbacks Tony Pike and Zack Collaros (making his fourth straight start in replace of the injured-but now recovered Pike). The WVU Mountaineers will not be a pushover. Last season's game went into overtime before the Bearcats prevailed. May be that close again - with similar results. Professor's Pick: Cincinnati
